Our mission
People First York-Durham is committed to empowering individuals with disabilities to advocate for their rights and promote a more inclusive and accessible York Simcoe. We strive to create a community where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
What we do
We engage in various activities to achieve our mission, including advocacy campaigns, educational workshops, community outreach, and providing resources to individuals with disabilities and their families. Discover how we are making a difference.
Advocacy
We champion the rights of people with disabilities through various advocacy efforts.
Education
We provide educational resources and workshops to promote understanding and inclusion. We had Firefighters come and provide a educational talk with us.
Outreach
We engage with the community to raise funds through Bake Sales in order to make a difference

We offer a variety of resources to support people with disabilities and their families.

People First York-Durham is a self-advocacy group run by and for people with disabilities. Located in York Simcoe, we are dedicated to promoting the rights and inclusion of all individuals with disabilities throughout York Simcoe. We believe in the power of self-advocacy to create positive change.
Newmarket Public Library lets us hold our meetings there each month for a really good cheap price.
